Happy Friday!

Happy Friday!!  My favorite day of the week!  This one has been a bit of a doozy.  It's all okay and we've made it through to the other side.

On Monday, I had an early morning dentist appointment.  You call and they let you know if you can come in or not.  Then you sign a COVID waiver and are immediately put in a room in the back.  I go back next week because I have a tiny cavity.  Oh, joy!

On Tuesday, we found out one of Alli's coworkers has the COVID.  There restaurant is closed down for a week and all employees have to have a negative test result before they can work again.  They had it on the 3rd, so she was almost a week into her "quarantine" period.  Thank goodness she always wears her mask at work and practices good hygiene and we always wear masks in public.

On Wednesday, my baby cat (well she was between 16-18 years old) Maggie passed away in my lap.  I am still very sad about it.  She went from fiesty, eating all the food cat to passing away in a day.
I knew she didn't have much time left, but I still wasn't ready for her to go.
I will miss her meows and loves.  She always told me when it was dinner time for the cats and if they were out of treats.

On Wednesday, I took Alli to get her COVID test.  They have it very organized and well ran.  When she told the guy doing the paperwork where she worked, he knew exactly which location.  A lot of her coworkers had already been there to get test and the person in the car behind us was also her coworker. Sigh.  She said the test felt like it made her eyeball bulge and the back of her nose hurt the rest of the day.  She does not have any symptoms and I think with all our precautions she will be fine.

I finished a couple of books this week.  The Mall only took me about two days to read.  90s Nostalgia all way.

Our Library is open for curbside pick up.  I had a lot of holds!
Thursday, I had a special project for work that is due by next Tuesday.  I finished my part of it by 2:15...and there was no more work left in our queues.
I don't think we have been this caught up...ever.....
I know I will not be returning to the office until, at the earliest, mid July.  And even then it will be half WFH and half in the office.  I'm not complaining.

I hope everyone's Friday is magical and that the weekend is grand.  I'm not sure what I am doing yet.

June Goals/To Dos

Hi all!  I hope your Thursday is treating you well!
My goals/to dos are not very lofty this month, because, well, you know.
Here is my short list:
  • Schedule Buster's vet visit.  I called and left a message about seven days ago, but they are closed on Mondays.  Maybe they will get back with me today.  If not, I'll give them a call back tomorrow.
  • Order Flea/Heartworm medicine for the doggos, we are out after this month.
  • Cancel Book of the Month Club.  My back log is too much right now.
  • Finish paying off a balance I have!  Almost there, only $167 to go.
  • Get the rest of the picture frames and finish the front room wall.
  • Get new flowers for my grandma's (Nanny) headstone
  • Decide on a color for my bathroom walls and paint them!
  • get two corner shelves for the bathroom
  • Find a spider plant
  • Get a pink manicure
  • Schedule a massage by the end of the month
  • Start derby up by the end of the month! (Maybe I will be feeling better about it)
  • Find a fun summer candle
  • Go through all the towels and sheets we have
  • Complete the June Photo a Day Challenge
  • Schedule a follow up with my primary and get referrals for two other doctors.
  • See if I can cross the zoo off of my spring bucket list (I have until June 21st!)
What is on your list this month?

Currently (6) .....

HI everyone!  It’s the first Wednesday of the month and that means it is the Currently Link Up hosted by In Residence.  It is my absolute favorite link up!  I was quiet in May and I am not sure why.  Times are different and odd.

So, let’s move on to our prompts:

Feeling:

Tired of Social Media.  People are mean.  People are hateful.  It’s hard to even log in to Facebook at this point.  I don’t post a lot.  I don’t feel comfortable posting anything now.  I used to use Facebook as a timeline for myself.  Sometimes, I still do that.  Making posts only visible to me.  I love Instagram, Pinterest and TikTok.  Yes, TikTok.

Like I’m done with Roller Derby.  I love it.  I still want to skate.  I love my leadership role.  I am just tired of drama and how draining it is.  I’m not the best by any means, I’m a medium player and I had fun doing it.  It just doesn’t feel fun anymore.  I want to skate, learn new things and get better.  Derby doesn’t seem like that anymore.  I don’t know my decision on this topic.  It might take a bit of soul searching to reach a conclusion.  Here is a fun pic from 2015 though, when I was having fun.  A hobby should be fun.

Wearing

I’ve decided it’s okay to wear shorts.  I haven’t really done so in years because i don’t like how I look.  And my skates. I've been skating at skate parks and on trails. I prefer skate parks 100%.

But mainly, I’ve been wearing yoga/leggings and tanks to work.  Since I just have to go from my bedroom to the kitchen.

Buying

I finished up my kitchen wall.  The cow and pig pictures are my last additions.  I purchased those from Hobby Lobby recently.  I might want one more smaller picture, but I haven’t found the right one yet. Sorry for the glare on the big chicken.

I used my Super Cash from Old Navy and purchased some shirts and shorts.

Craving

Vacations.  I have so much vacation time now since I’ve had two long weekend getaways canceled.  I guess I will start planning road trips for next summer.  We still have Disneyland to look forward to in November though.

Discussing

Current Events.  I will leave it at that. Discussions need to be had and I hope progress is being made in the world.

I would like to be discussing books and TV shows and new movies.

I hope everyone is doing all right!
