#IWSG :: March Post

Happy First Hump Day of the Month!

It's that time again for The Insecure Writer's Support Group.
Wanna find out what it's all about?  Click on the link above.

The March 7th question:
How do you celebrate when you achieve a writing goal?

I don't.  I don't celebrate a lot of accomplishments for myself.
I do enjoy celebrating others and making them proud of their accomplishments though.
Maybe this is wrong in thinking, but I don't feel like my accomplishments are as important as those around me.  I want others to feel important and proud.

I did very little writing in February and I have no explanation why.
I did do a link up on my blog, which garnered three participants.  I didn't think I would have any, so I was appreciative of those that played along.  I am going to try to do another one soon.

I've been trying to visit as many others blogs as possible.
Yesterday, I added about 40 from the list for the A to Z Challenge.  I like to make it easy and just add them to my reading list.  I follow anonymously.

What were you up to last month?
Whatcha up to this month?

Happy writing, blogging and whatever makes you happy!

  1. Hi Morgan! I'm a lot like you. I don't celebrate my writing accomplishments all that much either...although I do like to treat myself every now and again just because I feel it's important. Happy writing!

  2. Get out there and celebrate! That's an order!
Okay, I have to right to order you, but that "others first" attitude plagues us women and holds us back. Just a thought to consider. Happy writing!

  3. I'm glad I'm not the only person who doesn't celebrate hitting my writing goals! I'm a bit sad you don't think your goals are worth of celebration, though. They absolutely are. Even if you don't want to celebrate I hope you can feel more confidence in/proud of your work.

  4. Aww, I'm always about "you do you" so no pressure to do what you don't like to do. But sometimes, it's good to take the time to sit back and appreciate all you do at the least. In March, i'm working on my blog, starting to figure out how to freelance as a speaker, and figure out what writing project to commit to now since February i revised several short stories and have been sending them out. My usual, I dont have enough to do apparently.

  5. Of course, your accomplishments are important! Celebrate you! Looks like you got a new dog, and that takes much time and energy.
    Cheers!

  6. It's like with promotions - I do better promoting others than myself, and the same with celebrations.
Smart to start following early for the Challenge.

  7. Okay...it's true...many times I celebrate my children, husband, friends, etc., more than myself. But you do really need to remember to say "atta-girl" once in a while. It helps with positive mindset. All best to you, Morgan.

  8. Because you are still a care giver for your children and mostly parents because the celebration is them. Only please do celebrate yourself, and they will also later. For an old grandma!
