::tap, tap:: is this thing on?? Does it even work anymore??
Hello, hello everyone! It's been a while. I'm not sure if there is anyone left to read. I've been reading and lurking. A few people have stopped the blogging business and others I subscribed to have made their blogs private.
2021 was an interesting one for sure. But we did it, we made it!
I don't really have a recap. I didn't stick to my word of the year. I don't think I will pick a word of the year for 2022, I will end up forgetting about it and be disappointed when I finally do remember it, because I didn't act upon it. Maybe the world should just pick a word....like Kindness. Everyone just be kind and nice to one another.
I did land my dream job. Finally. After a million years. More on that later.
I had a corporate job for about 9 months full time and 3 months part time cause I couldn't abandon my coworker/friend. It was sad that I got paid for three full days for Thanksgiving, even though I was part time for three months before that. They averaged your number of hours worked that year and decided your pay. After three months part time, I was still at an average of 42.5 hours per week. So sad and not a brag. I was not cut out for the corporate world.
I re-entered Grad School. They changed the requirements and about half of my earned credit hours don't count for the degree, but they do count towards certifications, whatever that means. I have to complete additional classes, which aren't difficult, it's just difficult to find time to get them completed. (But time is being found to do so)Someone dumped a cat in my woods. He's now my cat and lives in my house (after all vet precautions, of course). He's a 16 pound Tuxedo cat named Tux. See what I did there?!? :) I'm up to three cats now and I'm not sad about it.
My car is paid off, guess I crossed that one of my things to do in 2021 list. Yay?
Alli is doing a few dual credit courses and hopes to become a dental hygienist.
Peyton is money savvy and enjoys making it. He's a sophomore now.
Tanner is working on obtaining his dream job. Slowly, but surely, he will get there.
I quit one derby league and went back to my original league. I am no longer in any leadership positions and I NEVER WANT TO BE AGAIN! Skater only for me!
What's been going on in everyone else's world?
Omigosh, hi! I thought you'd fallen into the used-to-blog abyss. Clearly, you've been busy. Thanks for the recap and congrats on your job!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back! Congrats on your new job.
ReplyDeleteHey there, stranger!! So nice to hear all your good news. Congrats on the dream job, returning to school, paying off the car. Sounds like Alli, Tanner and Peyton are all on the right track for success and happiness. Hope 2022 brings you continued blessings and lots of opportunities to just skate!!
