link up: Monday Music

I'm going to jump on with another link up today.  Every week, Cathy, hosts a link up about music over at her blog, Curious as a Cathy.  I've attempted to do the link up before but I never get done in time or I fail at even creating a post.

The theme this week is colors.  Guys, I like colors!  I, also, like songs with colors in the name.  Gold is my favorite color of all times, so I am going to share with you, three songs with gold in the title.

Three very different songs with Gold in the title.  Which one is your favorite?  Which one do you think is my favorite?

What other songs can you think of with gold in the title?

  1. You would be surprised how many songs are out there with GOLD in the title.
    Sting - Fields of Gold
Neil Young - Heart of Gold
Fleetwood Mac - Gold Dust Woman
    Ksnye West - Gold Digger
    Spandau Ballet - Gold
    Soul Asylum - Black Gold
Bad Company - Silver Blue and Gold
Foo Fighters - Concrete and Gold

And probably quite a few more that I haven't thought about.

  4. Mary came up with a lot that I was thinking of. Silver Threads and Golden Needles—Linda Ronstadt; Silence is Golden—Tremeloes; Band of Gold—Freda Payne come to mind. Thanks for sharking.

  5. Nice choices. All I can think of is Silver and Gold, a song from Rudolph.

  6. Morgan,

I like shiny colors! It's interesting my brain doesn't seem hardwired to think of neutrals shades, shiny, or colors with whiz bang names. I instinctive see just the basic colors. Hmm, this is a tuffy. I asked Google and of the titles listed not many rang familiar other than what's already been mentioned, except I did notice "Goldeneye". I'm feeling inspired by your song selections which I very much enjoyed. I definitely am going to listen to a few of the other "gold" song titles to broaden my mewsic knowledge. I'm so glad you got to finally hit the dance floor with the 4M gang. Next week is "Your Choice" of mewsic so I hope you get to boogie with us then, too. Have a colorific week, dear friend!

  7. All I could think of (too) was "Silver and Gold" from Rudolph. I have not heard any of these songs before and appreciated you playing along to musically educate. Thanks for playing with 4M's.

  8. Hi Morgan.
Wow, three really great Gold songs. None of them familiar to me, which is really cool. I was actually going to feature Gold in this one but chose to do Silver instead. I have my Gold post already put together (I'm doing the Kaleidoscope of Color Songs Series) though and several of the gold songs that Mary mentioned are in it.

As for my favorites of the three you presented, I really like the first two. Of those two, it's hard for me to pick a favorite as they're so different and I guess it would depend on my mood. I really do like them both but right now at this particular moment I think I'm digging Barns Courtney's "Glitter & Gold". I'd like to check out more music by Barns Courtney for sure. thanks for the introduction.

Have a good weekend, Hope to see you over at my place...

  10. For some reason, I kept thinking of the old Girl Scout song Make New Friends (but keep the old, one is silver, the other gold). Have no idea why! I would choose the Halsey song of the three (actually, there are six including your playlist) you offerd.
