Problems with Social Media

There are a lot of problems with social media.  A lot more than five.

Social media plays an important role in people’s lives now.  Too important.  Sometimes, it can be great.  Connecting with friends and family you had previously lost contact with (but then again, you need to figure out why you lost contact with them in the first place).  Finding out about events, places to go and things to do.

Social media is a tool for bullies.  You can hide behind a screen and have no accountability for your actions.  You could make someone else’s life complete hell if they let you.  You can bully people by, let’s say blocking them from all your things, but keeping you as a “friend” so you can see all of your things.   You can create fake profiles.  You can be a total catfish.

You can be whoever you want to be.  You post pictures and write about all these fabulous things you did or what you purchased.  You brag about all these awesome things that happen to you, when that’s maybe 10% of your life.  (Honestly, I rather see the good things, just don’t go on and on and on)  Always trying to find the perfect Facebook picture or Tweet to get all the attention.

You have the people that just want a pity party. ALL. THE. TIME. (The ignore or unfollow button works well for those people)

There are the people who look too deeply into a post and who you communicate with on there.

Also, it’s such a time consuming thing!  Why?  Why must it be?  I love Pinterest.  I could spend way too much time on there.  Also, I don't hate everyone on Pinterest.
